Theologians describe Jesus’ ministry as “peripatetic” because he moved from place to place. He did not settle in Nazareth and told everyone to come to him. He walked around, visited, talked, and ate with people. In the five Sundays leading up to Palm Sunday, we will travel with Jesus from his temptation in the wilderness to meeting fishermen on the beach to eating with a tax collector in Jericho. Along the way, we will grow in our faith and faithfulness just as the disciples did as they walked with Jesus.

Our scripture today is Luke 4:16-30: "When he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up, he went to the synagogue on the Sabbath day as was his custom. He stood up to read, and the scroll of the prophet Isaiah was given to him."
